In a recent discussion on Signal, I posted a link to "a good video" via YouTube. I was gently encouraged by a community member to use a link via Invidious instead, to enhance the viewer's privacy from YouTube's view.
While I originally thought that people reading my message could make up their own mind about how to view their privacy, I was encouraged to re-think my approach :-)
So that lead me to think that there could be a dedicated resource on our website somewhere, that you could paste in a BigTech link (YouTube, Reddit, whatever) and the page will respond with a set of alternative links and some descriptive text pushed back into the paste buffer, so it can then just be placed into whatever conversation the user was happening.
Something like an input of a YouTube link would result in
"YouTube video: 'TITLE' - watch in privacy via Invidious - [link to a currently available Invidious proxy] (link to Invidious info page) - or on the original BigTech platform [link to original YT resource]"
For TechReclaimers locations specifically, you might also get a Discord bot that does this automatically, no idea if you can get that in the forum but it could be at the very least an immediate followup post even if you decide to not edit the original poster's message.
